In Jim’s 36 years in the Financial Services Industry, he has worked with clients in a holistic manner, making sure that they have minimum risks while achieving their financial goals.
His business centers on Pre-Retirees / Retirees and helping them to find a clear vision and strategy for their financial future through investments, retirement income, life insurance and estate planning.
He has a long history of service and leadership roles with many Greensboro professional associations including the Greensboro Association of Insurance and Financial Professionals, the Greensboro Estate Planning Council, General Agents & Managers Association (GAMA) and the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Always giving back, Jim is an approved instructor for the State of NC Insurance Department of Continuing Education classes for licensed advisors and has served as a mentor to other professionals.
Jim has also been the recipient of two very prestigious industry awards – the Greensboro Association of Life Underwriters Member of the Year and the Marie E. Moyer, CLU Distinguished Service Award which highlights the achievement of Professionalism within the industry and exceptional individual career achievements.
Personal
Jim has long considered Greensboro his home. He moved there in 1977 to attend UNC- Greensboro, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Jim lives in Greensboro with his wife Robin with whom he enjoys golfing, exercising and reading. They also enjoy spending time with their grown children Lesley, Anne Marie, Emily and Vincent.
Community
As a longstanding member of the Guilford Park Presbyterian Church, he has served his spiritual family as an Elder, participated in the Long Range Planning Committee and the Property Committee.
As well as helping his clients, Jim helps his community by volunteering with Troop 242 of the Boy Scouts of America and was the Merit Badge instructor for “Personal Management”. He is a volunteer Baseball and Basketball coach at the Albert Spears YMCA, a Cities in Schools volunteer, and a Junior Achievement Volunteer Instructor.
